They have gathered this delicate saffron from La Mancha in Spains heartlands  

In gloomy October the the bright purple harvest of crocus (or roses as they are affectionatley known by the farmers) is picked by hand and then dried by hand over firewood following traditional methods.

The farmers are doing back breaking work to produce this amazing, artisan & fragile product and we are absolutely thrilled to be working with such passionate foodies.
